Korn waren als Headliner am Freitag gesetzt. Das Management suchte sich die Fotografen an Hand der Pit-Pass Liste aus und filterte schon ziemlich drastisch. Was dann aber uns Fotografinnen und Fotografen als Vertrag vorgelegt wurde, war eine Unverschämtheit schlechthin. Inklusive Abtretung aller Rechte an den eigenen Bildern; aber das war nur ein kleiner Teil der Dreistigeiten. Ich weiß nicht, ob die Band über diese Modalitäten überhaupt informiert war. Das Management erwies ihren Schützlingen allerdings damit einen Bärendienst, denn fast alle Kolleginnen und Kollegen weigerten sich, den Vertrag zu unterzeichnen. Das Management sah einem leeren Pit entgegen und wies das WOA Presseteam ziemlich kurzfristig an, nun alle Kolleginnen und Kollegen anzuschreiben und deren Zulassung bei Unterschrift auf dem Vertrag zuzulassen. Leider folgten einige diesem Aufruf; sehr schade. „Standhafte“ Kolleginnen und Kollegen posteten nun Korn Bilder von der vergangenen Tour, bei der es keinen Vertrag gab.
Ich widmete mich indes anderen Bands, die sich freuen, wenn sie beim WOA abgelichtet werden, und machte mich zur Wasteland Stage zu Ignea aus der Ukraine auf. Die Band um Frontfrau Helle Bogdanova hatte ich schon einmal im Kubana gesehen. Eine tolle Truppe, die auf ganzer Linie überzeugte.
Korn were the headliners on Friday. The management chose the photographers based on the pit pass list and filtered them quite drastically. But what was then presented to us photographers as a contract was outrageous. Including the assignment of all rights to our own pictures; but that was only a small part of the dirty tricks. I don’t know whether the band was even informed about these modalities. However, the management did their protégés a disservice, as almost all of their colleagues refused to sign the contract. The management was faced with an empty pit and instructed the WOA press team at fairly short notice to write to all colleagues and allow them to sign the contract. Unfortunately, some followed this call; a great pity. “Steadfast” colleagues now posted Korn pictures from the last tour where there was no contract.
Meanwhile, I turned my attention to other bands who are happy to be photographed at WOA and made my way to the Wasteland Stage to see Ignea from Ukraine. I had already seen the band around front woman Helle Bogdanova once before at Kubana. A great band that impressed across the board.
