Orphaned Land habe ich als Support für Blind Guardian das erste Mal 2015 gesehen. Damals kannte ich die Band noch nicht und konnte auch während des Konzertes nicht besonders viel mit der stark orientalisch angehauchten Musik anfangen.
Nun, nach einigen Verschiebungen, konnten die Israelis endlich auf die lang ersehnte „A Heaven You May Create“ Tour gehen. Den Auftakt machten sie im Siegburger Kubana und hatten nach gutem Aufheizen durch ihre drei Support Bands leichtes Spiel. Und das, was mir 2015 Schwierigkeiten bereitet hatte, nämlich die orientalischen Enflüsse der Band, erwiesen sich Anno 2024 als interessante Beigabe der sonst Doom/Death lastigen Musik. Super!
I first saw Orphaned Land as support for Blind Guardian in 2015. Back then, I didn’t know the band yet and couldn’t really get into their oriental-influenced music during the concert.
Now, after a few postponements, the Israelis were finally able to go on their long-awaited “A Heaven You May Create” tour. They kicked off the tour at Kubana in Siegburg and, after a good warm-up by their three support bands, had an easy time of it. And what had caused me difficulties in 2015, namely the band’s oriental influences, proved to be an interesting addition to the otherwise doom/death-heavy music in 2024. Perfect!
