Die Bonner Band Vamp<\/strong> (zuvor Roxx<\/strong>) hatte einen gl\u00e4nzenden Start mit ihrem Album „The Rich Don’t Rock<\/strong>„. Ihre Musik passte perfekt in die damalige Zeit und das (nicht nur) wegen ihres Ami S\u00e4ngers Tom Bellini<\/strong>. Damals brauchte die Truppe keinen Vergleich mit reinen US Bands zu scheuen.
\nIch habe die Band fotografisch \u00fcber einen l\u00e4ngeren Zeitraum begleiten d\u00fcrfen und somit ziemlich viele Bilder schie\u00dfen k\u00f6nnen, die dann auch fast alle beim Re-Release der ersten und unver\u00f6ffentlichten zweiten Platte im Booklet Einzug hielten.
\nHier ein paar Shots aus und vor ihrem Proberaum von 1989.
\nDie Open Air Pics sind 1987 in der Rheinaue in Bonn geschossen; mit auf der B\u00fchne Peter Burtz<\/strong> und Roland Ha(w)k<\/strong> von Steeler.<\/strong>
\nDie Indoor Pics stammen aus Bonn (Biskuithalle) und D\u00fcsseldorf (Tor3) im Februar 1988 als Support f\u00fcr U.D.O.<\/em> und aus Frankfurt als Support f\u00fcr White Lion.<\/strong>
\n<\/span>Ricolf Cross,<\/strong> Gitarrist der Band, starb leider viel zu fr\u00fch am 03.01.2015; RIP Ricolf.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Bonn-based band Vamp (formerly Roxx) got off to a flying start with their album \u201cThe Rich Don’t Rock.\u201d Their music fit perfectly with the spirit of the times, and not just because of their American singer, Tom Bellini. Back then, the band had no reason to shy away from comparisons with purely American bands.<\/em>
\nI had the privilege of photographing the band over an extended period, which allowed me to take quite a few pictures\u2014almost all of which made it into the booklet for the re-release of their first album and their previously unreleased second album.<\/em>
\nHere are a few shots from and in front of their rehearsal space from 1989.<\/em>
\nThe outdoor photos were taken in 1987 at the Rheinaue in Bonn; on stage are Peter Burtz and Roland Ha(w)k from Steeler.<\/em>
\nThe indoor photos were taken in Bonn (Biskuithalle) and D\u00fcsseldorf (Tor3) in February 1988 as the opening act for U.D.O., and in Frankfurt as the opening act for White Lion.<\/em>
\nRicolf Cross, the band\u2019s guitarist, sadly passed away far too young on January 3, 2015; RIP Ricolf.<\/em><\/p>\n
