English below<\/em><\/p>\n Das Wacken Open Air 2023<\/strong> ist gelaufen. W\u00e4hrend ich an diesem Artikel sitze, ist das Festival f\u00fcr 2024 bereits seit Stunden ausverkauft.<\/p>\n W:O:A 2023<\/strong> wird, und das ist so sicher wie das Amen in der Kirche, unvergessen bleiben. Noch nie in der Geschichte des Mega Eventes hat es im Vorfeld derart schlechte Wetterbedingungen gegeben, dass die Veranstalter gezwungen waren, irgendwann die Rei\u00dfleine zu ziehen und ein Anreise Stopp zu verk\u00fcnden. Bitter nat\u00fcrlich f\u00fcr alle die, die kurz vor der Haust\u00fcre ihres Lieblingsschauplatzes waren und wieder abreisen mussten. Und bevor es nun an das Bearbeiten von 15000 Bildern von 60 Bands (ja, ich habe das Vorjahresergebnis um 3 Bands verbessert) angehe, noch ein paar Worte zum gesamten Team des W:O:A<\/strong>. Wie die Jahre zuvor kamen wir nach Wacken,<\/strong> unserem zweiten Zuhause, wurden herzlich aufgenommen und hatten alle zusammen eine supergeile Zeit. Neue Leute kennengelernt die schnell zu Freunden wurden; ob nun vom W:O:A Team<\/strong>, den Kolleginnen und Kollegen der Foto Fraktion, oder Musikerinnen und Musiker. Ich bin zutiefst dankbar daf\u00fcr. Deshalb starte ich auch mit der ersten Galerie mit dem Titel Impressionen<\/strong>: Fans, W:O:A Team, Fotografinnen und Fotografen und dem einen oder anderen Pic vom Gel\u00e4nde.<\/p>\n Der Vollst\u00e4ndigkeit halber meine kleine Statistik: Und nun viel Spa\u00df mit den Pics.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Wacken Open Air 2023<\/strong> is over. Never in the history of the mega event have there been such bad weather conditions in the run-up to the event that the organizers were forced to pull the rip cord and to announce a travel stop at some point. Bitter, of course, for all those who were on the doorstep of their favorite venue and had to leave again. Thomas<\/strong> and Holger<\/strong> and the whole team have worked their asses off and made the best possible out of the precarious situation. For this from my side a deep bow! And of course they immediately took care of how and what can be done to somehow compensate those affected. My respect!<\/p>\n And before I start editing 15000 pictures of 60 bands (yes, I improved last year’s result by 3 bands), a few words about the whole W:O:A team<\/strong>. Like the years before we came to Wacken,<\/strong> our second home, were warmly welcomed and had a super awesome time all together. Met new people who quickly became friends; whether from the W:O:A team<\/strong>, fellow photo faction members, or musicians. I am deeply grateful for that. \nAber, und da bin ich mir sicher: keiner hat mehr gelitten als Thomas Jensen<\/b> und Holger H\u00fcbner<\/b>, die schweren Herzens die bittere Entscheidung verk\u00fcnden mussten.
\nWenn man dann die (z.Tl. verst\u00e4ndlichen) Social Media Kommentare liest, ist man schon ein wenig fassungslos. Nat\u00fcrlich sind die Zur\u00fcckgewiesenen entt\u00e4uscht, verbittert…
\nAber man muss vorrangig ber\u00fccksichtigen, dass die Sicherheit f\u00fcr ALLE gew\u00e4hrleistet sein muss, und das war an irgend einem Punkt nicht mehr der Fall.
\nIch sa\u00df selber neun Stunden f\u00fcr eine Strecke von 7,8 km auf dem Weg zum Check In<\/strong> im Stau. Nicht prickelnd, aber es war nun mal so. F\u00fcr das Wetter kann niemand etwas, und zaubern leider auch nicht.
\nThomas<\/strong> und Holger<\/strong> und das ganze Wacken Team haben sich den Arsch aufgerissen und das Bestm\u00f6gliche aus der prek\u00e4ren Situation gemacht. Daf\u00fcr von meiner Seite eine tiefe Verbeugung! Aud nat\u00fcrlich haben sie sich umgehend darum gek\u00fcmmert, wie und was man tun kann, um die Betroffenen irgendwie zu entsch\u00e4digen. Meine Hochachtung!!<\/p>\n
\nSorry, wenn ich nicht alle Gewerke namentlich ber\u00fccksichtige; gemeint sind aber all die flei\u00dfigen Helferinnen und Helfer. Die Security<\/strong> freundlich, zuvorkommend, die Leute im Pressezelt geduldig (auch wenn der eine oder andere, so wie ich, vielleicht mal genervt hat), Ordner<\/strong> und Streckenposten<\/strong> freundlich und zur\u00fcckhaltend, auch wenn sie mal die eine oder andere Anweisung gegeben haben, die man gerne anders geh\u00f6rt h\u00e4tte. Regeln sind halt Regeln.
\nNicht zu vergessen all die Leute, die f\u00fcr die Sauberkeit auf dem Gel\u00e4nde und – SEHR wichtig – auf den Toiletten gesorgt haben! Usw usw…..<\/p>\n

\nWhen you read the (partly understandable) social media comments, you are a bit stunned. Of course, those who were rejected are disappointed, bitter…
\nBut you have to take into account that safety must be guaranteed for ALL, and at some point that was no longer the case.
\nI myself sat in a traffic jam for nine hours for a distance of 7.8 km on the way to the check in<\/strong>. Not thrilling, but it was just the way it was. No one can do anything about the weather, and unfortunately no one can do magic either.<\/p>\n
\nSorry if I don’t mention all the trades by name; but I mean all the hard-working helpers. The security<\/strong> was friendly and courteous, the people in the press tent patient (even if one or the other, like me, might have been annoyed), the stewards<\/strong> and marshals<\/strong> friendly and reserved, even if they gave one or the other instruction that one would have liked to hear differently. Rules are rules.
\nNot to forget all the people who took care of the cleanliness on the area and – VERY important – on the toilets! Usw etc…..<\/p>\n
